Google Drive is an awesome service that provides desktop syncing to the cloud. It is ultimately a re-branding of Google Docs that allows storage for more than just documents. Although it launched late in the game, it is still a contender in the cloud wars that have gone on in the cloud storage market.
I feel there is just a few integration features missing from the product .
Recently launched, Drive is still in the early stages of integration with other products and services. We have seen nothing that indicated any integration with other Google services though. I use Google products through and through and would like to see some form of integration.
For instance, I would like to send images from my Picasa account or attachments from Gmail to Drive with the click of a button. To give Chrome an edge, Google should introduce an option to “Right Click” on a file to send it to Drive. This would help drive up usage for Chrome as I feel it is one of the fastest browsers available.
Eventually Google should contemplate wrapping all of their services into one convenient service where everything is stored in one place. I don’t feel you should have to go to 5 or 6 different websites to get access to your information that is usually stored on 1 computer.
As I stated before, Google Drive is still in its early stages and some of these integrations may already be planned. If not, maybe a Google engineer will stumble across my post and take my ideas into consideration.
